Accomplishments
Integration
Work with three end-user groups; Paid Fire Department, Volunteer Fire Department & Fire District Adminsitration.
Referendum
Generate public support to create a successful bond referendum. Led entire public communication and bond process for a successful vote.
Public Outreach
Create an Infill/Renovation that garnered neighborhood and business acceptance and respects the existing facility’s historic nature.
Engagement/Team Building
Participated in numerous neighborhood meetings/forums and welcomed input from neighbors. Developed multiple conceptual layouts and reduced to optimal layout for response and safety.
Leadership
Led project team for public support campaign/bond process for a successful vote.
Budget/Value
Design the project within a tight budget while still including all systems for a modern Fire/EMS facility. Created detailed hard and soft cost budgets and bond repayment calculations for taxpayer implications. The project bid 10% under budget.
Design
Utilized materials, shapes, roof planes and massing to respect the existing facility. Value-Engineered the building to include durable materials and essential spaces that the public could support without compromising programmatic needs.
