Utilize the existing small, odd-shaped site for a new state-of-the-art facility that would better house apparatus and personnel. Designed and carefully sited building to take advantage of the site shape to improve response and responder parking.
Accomplishments
Budget
Control the size and scope of the facility to maintain a budget for new equipment. Analyzed every aspect of the project through value-engineering in order to maintain the budget.
Aesthetics
Effectively design a facility that “fits” into a residential area. Utilizes sloped roofs, warm colors, and carefully designed the buildings massing in order to reduce visual impact.
Referendum
Generate public support to create a successful bond referendum. Led entire public support and bond process for a successful vote.
Approvals/Negotiations
Negotiate and design off-site water and sewer. Worked with the Town, Village and private land owners to secure approval and easements for the necessary services.
